EJ Thinkubator is powered by Explorer Junior and is a learning space that provides afterschool program for children from 7 to 14 years old.
As the world is changing at a rapid pace in this age of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and accelerated technological development, we believe in the need to equip and nurture children with skill-sets and competencies beyond academic excellence. Therefore, we created a space to enable learning beyond books and classrooms. We want children to learn through meaningful exploration and creation.
Apart from academic support during homework and revision time, the afterschool program incorporates Maker’s time that exposes children to activities such as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) experiments, Maker’s Challenge (children to solve problems by building prototypes using different equipment and tools), coding and more.
A structured schedule is put in place to nurture good learning habits such as accountability and discipline.
Every child spends an average of 4-5 hours everyday with our dedicated team of educators and through the Thinkubator experience, or more affectionately known as “Thinky” experience by our students, we hope to inspire them to be independent learners and lifelong explorers.
Low Facilitator to Student Ratio
We keep our classroom ratio to a maximum of 1:10 to 1:12 students to ensure each child receives adequate attention from the educator.
During Revision time, our educators will provide guidance to their school assignments. There will also be in-house assignments given to students to practise after they have completed their assignments. Our educator will also go through their weekly Spelling with them.
Our meals are prepared by an in-house chef to ensure our students receive fresh and nutritious food everyday.
In-House Healthy Meals
What is gravity and how gravity works? Is black made up of 1 colour or it is a mixture of many? Can we turn a magnetic object into a magnet? Students get to participate in a guided science experiment session with our educator every month. They can also suggest or propose what experiments they want to conduct!
Monthly Science Experiment
Can you build the tallest structure using 20 straws? Kelongs are houses on stilts. A recent tsunami has swept away John’s family kelong. Using LEGO, can you build a new house prototype for John? We get children to put on their critical thinking and creativity cap to solve problems during our weekly Maker’s Challenge!
Team building outdoor activities and excursions are planned during school holidays to allow our explorers to learn how to communicate effectively with their peers through experiences and fun activities.
The centre also plans for excursion trips during school holidays.
Team Building Activities
We run thematic STEAM holiday workshops such as Blast off to Outerspace, Jurassic World, Da Vinci Code etc for children to explore Science and Technology through a series of fun hands-on activities and experiments!
Thematic Science and Coding Holiday Workshops
Each child is allocated a 30 minute iPad session and they get to explore self-directed coding apps such as Tynker and Codespark Academy. For the P4 and P5, they get to explore Minecraft Education too.

WHAT PARENTS SAY
I am fortunate to have found Thinkubator in Ubi vicinity which is just opposite my kids' school. Though the fees maybe slightly higher than the other student care centers around the area, it is definitely value for money with regards to the quality of services we receive in return! The environment is clean and newly renovated with nutritious cooked food for kids. The teachers are amazing, passionate and caring, and they have the ability to engage the kids in an effective manner! My boys love it so much and enjoy every single day in the centre! One of the areas worth mentioning is the fact that they do not just focus on the academic progress of the kids, they do various other activities (STEAM related) with these kids. This makes learning interesting for kids and really help the kids develop other capabilities and skillsets, beyond just typical classroom learning. In fact, this is the 3rd student care center which my kids have attended and I dare say that this is the BEST in this area by far! Highly recommended for all parents!
